I've attended a few birthday parties, gone to a few bars on random nights, and went clubbin down in Hollywood for a bit. The adventures just keep coming, and I've been having a lot of fun. The first night or two was just a couple quick visits to the Moon, or an occasional movie or two at Jenny's place, which was a lot of fun - especially cuz I finally found a spot where she's ticklish and ended up in a twenty-thirty minute tickle fight with her, lol.

In between these nights, I spent my time studying for my bar-tender's license and learning as much as I can. I did a few more pieces of artwork, but haven't finished anything yet. A good portion of this time was also spent helping friends with any trouble they were going through - which was actually a lot - and I was happy to have been there for support to help them through it. I've also been working on getting back into shape by spending about two hours a day in the gym, getting back into my old vitamin/health-freak mode... and of course, still working my occasional drinking into my daily diet-intake, lol.

Finally Halloween came up, which was a lot of fun in the end but that was only after we all had plans thrown up and crash down on us. The original plan, as far as I thought, was to drink at a motel room that James was getting for the night down in West Hollywood with a big group of friends. Of course... it ended up being NOTHING like that, and James didn't really communicate it that well because only one or two of us knew the REAL plan, while the rest of us were just confused. Eventually, as we got to West Hollywood after being in stop-go-traffic for an hour or so, I realized that the REAL plan was to goto the block-party in West Hollywood. To top it off - keep in mind, I went out there with only $20 - parking was at least $30... yeah, we realized that it was kinda stupid, so we just turned around without even stopping and went back to my place for a party of our own... and like $100 in alcohol, xD
So in the end, we ended up getting trashed, playing pool and doing all of this in our Halloween costumes, which was definitely fun... we also played King's Cup and had a LOT of laughs with that.

After Halloween we spent the first couple of days relaxing from Halloween, and I had to take down all the decorations and do a lot of prepping for the new season, while still going out occasionally to the Moon with friends. After that is when the birthday parties started up - the first one was on the 5th for Brad's birthday down at the Steel Pit. This one was a lot of fun for me, considering that I got to see a LOT of old friends and was greeted with open arms... and a lot of shocked expressions, lol. I was very grateful to have seen all of them, and explain what happened and why I'm back in Cali. They were all just relieved to hear that I was doin alright, I was happy, and especially that I was back in Cali, xP

Brad's party was a lot of fun, I got to play a lot of pool and enjoy some great beer, but the party didn't go on as long as I was thinking it would - the bar started to close around 10:00pm. So when I left there, I got lucky and found out that Jenny, Shannon, James and Arthur were about to leave for the clubs in Hollywood. Being that I was already dressed in acceptable clothing for a club and that I was down for a club just then, I drove out to meet them there. The drive was actually very enjoyable, and there really wasn't that much traffic. When I got there, Arthur was awesome and paid for my parking, I was taken inside of the club, which had a packed dance floor and was playing some really good music. I went onto the floor and danced my way over to them so I would know where they were... then I retreated to the bar for a beer or two, lol. After I finished that, I got a good amount of dancing in - would have been happy for more - but everyone wanted to walk the streets for a bit and find something else to do.

Our next stop was a very small... club? idk what to call it, it seemed more like a karaoke-bar, named Motherlode. We stepped in and it was pretty dead, aside from the few people singing and couple at the bar, but Arthur was awesome again and got a shot for me - we both downed a Kamikaze, which has become our drinking-buddy shot-of-choice, lol. After that shot everyone decided to go back to the streets. The next place we went to - I completely forgot the name - looked amazing; I loved the style of the building, and it was HUGE on the inside with several rooms and a couple bars scattered within. This place was great, pretty dead and no dancing that I could see, but apparently they have really good food as well. We only stayed there for ten minutes or so before returning to the streets. The plan at this point was to go back to the first club, Rage I think the name was, and continue dancing... of course on the way we passed by Millions of Milshakes... and that's when my fat-ass side surfaced and I really wanted one, lol.

The menu at this place was great, there were so many choices and it took each of us five minutes to decide what we wanted, but eventually when we all got a shake we stepped outside and sat down to have a smoke while we enjoyed our shakes. The only downside to this was that it was already FREEZING outside, and after a milkshake, we were all shivering - especially Jenny and I - so we all decided to call it a night. We returned to our cars and took our separate paths home for a good night's sleep, ^^

After that night, I woke up to start getting ready for Arlet's birthday party at the Moon on the 6th. Of course... many obstacles arose during my day that caused me to miss out on joining everyone at the movies - they were going to see The Box at the local theater. I wanted to go, but I ended up taking my little brother and his friend to a skate-park in Glendale for a few hours. Luckily there was nothing else I had to do that night other than pick up Rachel and go to the Moon for the party at 9:00pm.

Just before I left, since I had been studying my bar-tending guide, I had to try a shot with Bill and he chose a shot called an 'Alien Nipple'... sounded weird at first, but omg was it good, lol. After the shot and a quick bite to eat, I left to pick up Rachel and got to talk to her parents for a bit - they gave us the usual, "don't drive drunk" speech and everything, which I thought was kinda funny, xD
When we got there I instantly recognized a LOT of friends that I haven't seen since high school as well as a few others that I have seen at the Moon before.

I was able to have a few drinks as well as half of my flask-of-rum before Rochelle and Jenny got there with James and the rest of the group, so I was feelin pretty good. Of course... things really got fun when Arlet had a few too many and started dancing with random people in and outside of the bar. I tried to record a video and take pics, but it was too dark, >.<
Frannie, Arthur and Shannon got there a bit later and joined us in the fun... to which Arthur got us our usual Kamikaze. I got to play a few games of pool after that, even gave a few pointers to other players during their games and got them a couple of great shots.

I joined up with Rachel, Frannie and everyone else downstairs after that, and had a very strong rum 'n' coke when things really got interesting: I was being told that Jenny was starting to get pretty drunk... keep in mind, I've never seen this girl drink more than maybe one or two drinks over a whole night, so I was lookin forward to see how she would be acting, xD
Next thing I know, as I'm having a smoke outside, Jenny jumps on my back giggling and laughing about it then quickly says, "I gotta go inside" and jumps off. Everyone around me was laughing at it cuz it was so random and came from no where. A little later, Jenny ended up back outside and kissed her 'wifey', Rochelle, dead on the lips - Rochelle's reaction was priceless; her eyes just lit up and her arms started flailing around as she was falling backwards from Jenny who was falling INTO the kiss. This got everyone outside crackin up laughing for a pretty long time. After all that is when i noticed that the DJ had put on the 'Chicken Dance' song... yeah, I was kinda confused at this point, especially when I got back in to see everyone DOING the chicken dance.

Things kept up like this for a while longer, then Arlet left and said her goodbyes. Shortly after this I said mine and took Rachel home, then went back to my place for a good three hours of sleep... I woke up at about 7:00am or so and couldn't get back to sleep. I just got up and started my day as usual, xP

That's pretty much everything that's happened since my last post on here. I'll be sure to keep it updated after this, lol. Hope everyone enjoys reading it... cuz it was definitely a pain to write all of this, lol.

Lates,
Cory

PS: There was no LAMING tonight!!! woohoo!! xD

All Saint's Day and a Blue Moon

Last night was a fun one, especially since we all got to see All Saint's Day, which was actually VERY good. I don't wanna spoil anything about the movie, so I'll save my review for another time, but it was definitely worth seeing and really met all expectations - any true Boondock Saints fan needs to go see it. I got to see it with a bunch of friends, including two old friends that I hadn't gotten to see in a long time... of course Frannie, Trevor and I didn't get to the movie till five minutes in because Frannie had forgotten to pick up her paycheck, so we had to take a HUGE detour to Glendale and get it before the movie. We ended up getting insanely lost on the 5 and somehow ended up in Sylmar... don't ask how, cuz really have no clue, >.<

We managed to get to the theater about ten minutes before the movie, but had to wait in a line and didn't get in until the movie was about five minutes or so in... which wasn't much. After the movie though, we all met in the parking lot to see James' new $87 shoes... he freakin bought a pair of 6" high heels for his Halloween costume. Plus it was funny to see him 'grow' six inches, instantly, lol - even funnier when they started getting passed around to all the girls so they could try them on, hahaha. Plus... I think I saw a car drive by giving us the weirdest look, lol.

After all that was said and done, we all met up at Blue Moon to enjoy a fun night of pool and drinking. When we got there, it was funny, I walk in the bar and Jenn looks at me, points and motions for my to sit next to her - I asked why and she just grabs me, and throws me in the seat. She then informed me that this creepy guy in the bar had been eyeing her and asking her to dance with him. I layed my hand on her leg and sat close to her right when the guy walks up to me, "So you two are dating?" to which I replied, "Yup! xD" he just nodded his head and walked away to get a drink. Jenn looked at me and thanked me; feeling that my business was done, I got up to get myself a beer, xP

A little bit later we all went up stairs for some pool - I held the undefeated title for the night, thank you lol - as well as some fun laughs, and a lot of hilarious pictures, hahaha. Throughout the whole night, I only had about three beers, and a few sips of some friend's drinks to try em out... so I was sober when I left, but I was happy, ^^
Especially knowing that tonight is All Hallows Eve... tonight should be a lot of fun too, and I can't wait for it.

ttyl,
Cory

Free Movie and Pool

Today was definitely a day to be remembered, with all the friends I got to see and all the laughs that we had. As the night started out, we were heading to the Chinese theater in Hollywood to see a free screening of The Fourth Kind, which turned out to be somewhat... odd. It was definitely a very well done movie with a documentary feel to it, however it had an emphasis on the story that was perfectly blended with the ACTUAL footage from the shit that happened in Alaska back on 2000. This footage was used in a way that you could actually see the real footage and the staged footage match up seamlessly with a split screen effect. This effect allowed for a very creative way to show that the movie itself really was based on REAL occurrences and not just staged to make it all up. In the end, the story was actually very good, and definitely gives some good insight into what COULD be out there while, in the beginning of the movie, they explain that the movie is not meant to make you believe in anything; it is only meant to show you what these people went through.

I give it a 2.5/5; Great camera-work, great story/documentary, however in terms of an entertaining movie for theaters... this didn't really fit the bill.

Getting into the movie was one thing, due to the very long line as well as our whole group meeting up from two separate cars at different times. The line was definitely very long, and we were given a form to fill out before the movie... it asked a few questions and such... some of which were asking if any member of your family were in the entertainment industry, or did reviews on movies, or advertising, etc... Naturally, I answered yes to all of them... to which I was pulled aside and questioned - they told me that I am NOT supposed to be able to see the movie because of that, however he said that he would let it slide, ^^
I thought this was hilarious... of course everyone else gave me shit for it, which included the usualy "LAME" remark from Jenny, xD

After we got out of the movie we went for a bite to eat... of course, I had to stop and get some coffee first, lol. We ended up heading down to Swishers for some food which, since I only brought six bucks with me, I didn't order anything... and that proved to be a good thing, because I earned the title "left-over disposal". Everyone at the table, aside from Leonard, gave me their left-overs; Chili-Cheese Fries, a Chicken Wrap, a Cheese Burger w/Onions followed by two cupcakes - one strawberry and one chocolate. I finished off all of the leftovers and was very satisfied, ^^

Upon leaving Swishers, Jenny, Amanda, Rochelle and I came back to our town and decided to stop at Blue Moon for a game of pool while I had a beer. Shortly after arriving and starting a game Arthur, Crystal, and Shannon met up with us to play a few games. I played a game against Amanda which got my pretty warmed up... a bit later I was challenged by Crystal, who I had already lost to a few days before, so I took it as a rematch... yeah, I got to the eight-ball and scratched, >.<
This loss is what started up the next HUGE laugh that we all had because when I scratched, Jenny decided to say that it was "lame" and that I sucked... she then continued to say that just about EVERYTHING I did was lame. This eventually developed into a VERY long string of comments to my status on Facebook which read, "Cory Armstrong is wondering why everything he does is 'lame' to a CERTAIN someone."

Commenting on this status-post became to new trend for about an hour while we were all sitting at the bar, around the pool table, and had everyone laughing the entire time. The conversation had brought in everyone from the bar, but mainly revolved around Jenny, Rochelle, Vito and a little from myself... even my Uncle Vic joined in at one point, which gave us an ever greater laugh. Finally we were able to gather that, as a whole, all of us were lame for taking part in such a long conversation and were eventually able to stop commenting... after nearly an hour, lol.

This was how the night ended, and we all joined up outside for a final cigarette/hug-goodbye. I'll get some pics up here from tonight - even though not many were taken - as well as some pics from last night's adventure with Glow-In-The-Dark Catch, which Rochelle just posted online. Aside from that... I'm almost done with the background for my blog, so I should be able to get that up here tomorrow at some point, provided that I'm not too busy.

I'll ttyl,
Cory

PS: LAME!!!

Glowing?

Glow-in-the-dark Catch was the name of the game we played tonight... of course, at first I was very confused as to how this would unfold considering that it was very dark and we were all meeting at a park with very little light. I figured that it would involve some glowing ball, or something by nerf that would just happen to be very well lit... however I was wrong in that aspect. I went along with it after being told that I WAS going... in other words, I didn't really have much of a choice, lol. Figuring that it would have something to do with it, I brought a bunch of glow-sticks and thought it would help; luckily I did, because apparently no one else was able to find anything that glowed in order to make it work.

As we all got to the park, we began passing out the glow-sticks and dressing ourselves with them in various creative ways. Once we were glowing enough and ready to start the game... we somehow got sidetracked on the swings, jungle-gyms, and slides for a good thirty to forty-five minutes, laughing and having a great time. When that was all said and done we proceeded to the basketball court with several tennis-balls, spread out along the borders of the court and began throwing the non-glowing tennis-balls to each other - multiple balls being thrown at once - and calling out the names of our targets... of course since the tennis-balls were NOT glowing in any way, shape or form... it made it somewhat difficult to SEE the balls being thrown to us. This only made the game that much more fun, and got all of us laughing throughout the hour or so that we spent playing. A little bit into the game, however, we started to realize that if we missed a ball... finding it proved to be an all new challenge considering how dark it was, >.<

Regardless of how hard it was to actually CATCH the balls... playing catch in this manner was definitely very well worth the trip, and was a great experience for myself and all of the great friends we had with us... I think the funniest part was that after we finished playing the game... we somehow managed to, once again, get sidetracked by the swings and slides; this time we happened to be paying very close attention to the static that built up from the friction on the slides and spend another good thirty to forty-five minutes shocking each other, lol.

When all of our fun came to and end someone had the random idea of getting icees from the nearby 7-11. When we got there we ended up drinking our icees in the parking lot for another thirty minutes or so laughing and talking about various topics; one of which was Monster Massive, which I am very excited about... I just wanna get some friends to go too, xD

I'll talk to Rochelle and James to see if I can get some pics of tonight on here... we got a bunch of very funny pics that I can't wait to see, lol.

Lates,
Cory

Close Enough...

Well, this is the new layout, minus the background. I haven't finished my design for the background yet, and decided that instead of rushing it tonight, I'm gonna give myself some time to relax and finish it in due time. Now I just need to get the navbar and the sidebar content finished, and everything will be complete.

Aside from that; I've had a great month since I moved back home, and met a lot of great new friends. After everything that happened at the end of September, I really needed this. It's given me time to make a few life-decisions, and readjust myself closer to the living standards that I've always wanted to achieve. My friends are all TRUE friends, and have done nothing but be understanding with me, and show me a great time.

Now that I've gotten my blog back up, with a new design even, I can finally start sharing the adventures I've been having with everyone. I'll also be linking this blog with my Facebook so that anyone on there can see the posts without actually NEEDING to come to this site and hopefully I can start getting a few pictures to post on here to with each adventure, lol.

I think that's it for now - I've got a few things to do around the house, but I should be heading to the bar later with a few friends, and I'm sure I'll have a few stories to tell about it when I get back, xD

Lates,
Cory

Starting it up again...

Well, after everything I've been through, I've decided to get started on my blogging again.
